My mom visited us for almost two weeks. We had SO much fun!
Andy watched the kids so we could go to Williamsburg just us two. Here is the governor's palace built in the 1700's. It was incredibly interesting to learn about how people lived back then.
This apothecary was the most interesting of all. We learned about all the medicines they used in the late 1700's. They used to give cream of tartar to reduce fever because in large quantities it is a laxative. They believe that if you got the "warm" out it would take the fever too. Hmmmmm...interesting theory. We also saw all kinds of surgical tools. It gave me the heebie jeebies just looking at the knives and saws. ICK.
In front of the Capitol building.
The courthouse, inside the Capitol, next to the room that the Declaration of Rights was written.
We got to shew chickens into their pens.
When we got home, this is what we found Andy and the boys doing...slip n'slide on the trampoline.
A friend in the ward had a "It's great to be four" birthday party for all the four year olds. It was at Gymboree. They all had a fantastic time!
LOVE how the tongue sticks out in concentration as he tries to play the maraca.
OH WHAT A HOT AND HUMID DAY to be on Captain Jack's Pirate Ship! I have never felt heat like this, even being an Arizona girl! We were drenched from head to toe in sweat! But it didn't stop us from having FUN!
They painted all the kids faces with scars.
Ash wasn't about to let that strange man touch his face...so he offered his arm instead!
Dolphins were putting on a show for us in the open ocean. They were jumping ALL around the boat!
Shooting cannons at Black Beard! Alex LOVED THIS!
At the end, they each got to pick out a treasure from the chest.
Happy Fourth of July! ...from Sandbridge Beach!
We had such a blast boogie boarding with Alex.
Going to watch the fireworks. OH WAS IT humid!
Ash and Aaron fell asleep on our walk down to the park to watch fireworks.
We had such a fantastic day! The Virginia Beach fireworks were the best any of us had ever seen! They just kept COMING!
