The Wrights Bring Some Love From the Desert

Ashten has a stuffed animal in his hands (with his blankies) at all times. Today Rudolph was the lucky friend!
We were so lucky to have the Wrights come visit us back in September. We took a trip to Luray for two nights so we could explore the caverns there. It was AWESOME! I've never seen anything like it!

Interesting fact: moss will only grow in the light. The caverns have no natural light, so they have placed lights throughout. The caverns are incredibly humid, so one would think there would be moss everywhere. But, Andy showed me that there was only moss in the places that the light shined. I used this picture for an analogy in teaching my Gospel Doctrine class. Living things can only grow in the light. We need light to grow...and WHO is LIGHT? Christ. It worked well and the kids seemed to find it really interesting. :)

A beautifully clear wishing well.
Gosh, I love these peeps!!!

After we saw the caverns, we went to a *small* pumpkin patch. The most exciting part of it was poking straw into the goat cage and watching them eat it. :/

Snake-like gourds!
Ash was so proud of his little pumpkin.

Trying to get a shot of all of the beautiful ivy growing up huge walls on one side of the highway. This picture does not even come close to showing how gorgeous this drive was!

Opa and Andy took an early morning fishing trip.
