We had SUCH a great time this year at the cabin in Colorado. It was nice not to have a "baby" baby this time! The pictures are all in reverse...but you get the idea. We did lots of fishing, some hiking, dinner at Aunt Suzy's, the Alpine Slide ride, rented a pontoon boat, threw plenty of rocks at everything in sight, puzzles, visited the Durango hatchery, walked around downtown Durango so we could stop in at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory (mmmmmmm mint truffles for me and mountain toffee for Andy), freezed our tooshie's off watching fire works over the lake, and attended a camp site Family BINGO night. Whew. We kept busy, but sure had a lot of fun! It was REALLY hard to leave the 75 degree weather to return to 115!

At the end of the night Alex was pretty distraught over the fact that we didn't win anything.

How Aaron feels about wearing a life jacket.
We finally convinced Aiden to go down the Alpine slide ride with Andy. (Okay, okay...we promised him we'd buy him a Hot Wheel car if he'd try it. Aiden WILL WORK FOR HOT WHEEL CARS!) He enjoyed it, but wasn't in love with it like Alex.
All Alex wanted to do was ride down this slide over and over. He has a need for speed!
The bungee trampoline. They strap you up and one of the workers bungees you as high as they can into the air. Alex loved it. Aiden wouldn't get near it.
Poor Aaron was so upset that he wasn't old enough to go down the big slide. He had to hang with boring preggars mommy. We ended up taking his shoes off so he could stomp through this little stream...and throw rocks. Throwing rocks is a very important part of being a boy, apparently. Even Andy has to throw rocks into water. Hmmmm, guess I'll always be out of the loop on this one!
Aaron and mommy did a little goofy golfing to pass the time while the others rode the big slide. Mostly he just chucked his ball as far as he could and I spent a good amount of time digging through bushes to find it. He entertained many as he jumped off of every big rock he could find while I searched for his ball. The phrase that I hear most when speaking to strangers about Aaron is, "HE IS ALL BOY". Yes, yes folks, he is. If there is anything to be thrown, smashed, or climbed Aaron is right there in the middle of the action.

We found this great park in Durango with a playground in one area and a huge stream in another. The kids only played on the playground equipment for about 30 seconds and threw rocks into the stream for about an hour and a half, at which time we forced them out!
Alex was SO EXCITED about his first bow and arrow set.
It was fun to actually let the kids play outside in the summer time!

We went to a train museum that housed some of the first trains ever built. The kids had a blast climbing in and out of them.

Andy dug the kids a "Monster Truck Pit" in the front yard of the cabin. They came in covered in diret from head to toe. But, boy did they enjoy it! Notice Aiden still thinks he's in Arizona...shirts optional.
Andy took each of the boys out to have special time with Daddy. He took Alex on a super long hike to go fishing in a remote stream that he knew about. They left at 3 p.m. and told us that they'd be back by 7 p.m. At eight o'clock I started to panic and tried to call him for two reasons: Andy does NOT have a good track record for hiking. He always seems to sprain or brake SOMETHING. He is a delicate flower that needs to be EXTRA careful when there is any sort of outdoorsy stuff going on. (He's going to love it that I called him a flower) :) . Second, we have been watching way too much "I Shouldn't Be Alive" episodes. Finally at 9 p.m. I'm in a total panic trying to call his cell phone. He finally calls about 9:05 to say they are on their way back to the cabin. I could have just smacked him!!! That was a very LONG two hours of waiting. We were so glad to have them back home with us.

Each of the boys caught a fish for mommy to eat. ...and let me tell you, fresh rainbow trout cooked by one Andy Wright are simply moutwatering! Mommy and baby Ashten had some good eats that week!
Aaron wanted NOTHING to do with the fish that he caught. It grossed him out just looking at it. HA!

How fun. I loved seeing all the pictures. You guys go on some good vacations! So very jealous.
